Lora sat in the cage, wondering what kind of creatures most of these people were. She knew that most of them weren’t human. She could sense the same essence on some as she could her some of her kinsmen. By kinsmen, she meant the half nixies. Half nixies had been tricked by blood thirsty creatures and had turned into them. When they returned to the water, they had still been blood thirsty themselves, and lured humans into the water to feast on their blood. Of course, she didn’t know what they were called exactly, but some of them were here, and she knew that she didn’t want to be tricked by one of them herself.
Lora wondered how Seamus was doing. She hadn’t been in close proximity when he had been purchased, only close enough to see him wave to her as he left with a scrappy looking man. She hadn’t been able to hear anything that they had been talking about when the man entered the store. Their seller had moved them apart because they were becoming too friendly with each other. He didn’t want to sell slaves that bothered their master about other slave friends. He felt that if they did it too much, the new master might return them, which was stupid in her opinion.
She felt a tug on her hair as she looked up at a woman who had come up to see her. “What do you mean she’s always wet?” the woman asked in a snooty voice, sounded like she could cackle like a witch with that voice. “I mean what I said. Her hair is always wet, we’ve tried to dry it but it never works. We think that she might be something special, but we don’t know what” the woman gave a strange look to the seller, then looked down at Lora. Their eyes met and Lora quickly looked away. The woman huffed and started to walk away.
The seller scoffed and bent down to Lora’s level. “Listen here missy, why don’t you just behave yourself and tell us why you won’t stay dry. If you don’t sell soon, we’re going to sell you to the factory, working with fire and hot coal; does that sound appealing to you?” she jutted her lip out at him. Send her to work in a warm place didn’t sound so bad, it was the fact that she thought she might dry up in that place that had her scared. “I won’t tell you a thing, so think of another way to sell me. You’re supposed to be able to sell your merchandise aren’t you?!” she didn’t like this man. He wasn’t very kind at all and treated her like she was some form of lowly sea slug. She believed that if you can’t sell something, then you can’t possibly be all that good at being a vendor. She didn’t understand why he would be in this business anyways, he hadn’t been able to sell much of anything at all. Why did she have to get stuck with this guy anyways?
She sighed and looked back out at the crowd, wondering if anyone would look past the fact that her hair wouldn’t dry and would actually buy her. That thought and wish was unlikely. If only her stupid seller would realise that she needed to produce so much more water than usual to keep her alive because it was too hot and humid in the building. If it was just a decent temperature, she would be just fine with a little amount of water, but the heat dried her up too fast and she needed to produce more. Maybe that was why she wasn’t selling.
Thinking about when she first came here and how she can’t wait to leave, she wondered when she would be able to give Seamus his gift. She knew they would meet again, but she just didn’t know when.

King looked miserable. He was being dragged to the trading circles and he didn't even remember agreeing to do any favors for 'watery creatures' and he shivered at the thought. He dragged his heels slightly, letting his large coat flit across the floor slowly and made sure to keep the small kitten in his pocket close for comfort. 'Why?' He thought to himself, obviously in no mood to be there."Why is it Seamus..." He began, in a less than impressed voice, "That you've managed to get me to do this?" his voice was as serious as his question, for no matter how hard King tried he couldn't understand what powers the small red head had that had made him agree to buying another servant.
He made sure to push his rather neat hair in front of his face, which he had obviously bothered to brush today, to hide his face from the crowds. He noticed he was being stared at and for once he didn't feel like showing himself off. It was strange to him to feel embarrassed, but it was a sight to behold, a small red headed boy who seemed to be incredibly excited about something leading a very tall, well built man who had all the aura of a cat going to the vet! King finally sighed, allowing himself to be led a little faster, if he was going to do this he might as well let it happen quickly, like a bandage. He made sure to keep up with the small boy, gently placing a hand on his shoulder before whispering in a rather beautifully toned voice: "You owe me~"

He smiled at his master shivering as he whispered. "How... would you like it?" He couldn't help but blush. He turned and hugged the man tightly. "Thank you though...if we find her... i owe you everything." His face lit up more before he turned and dragged him along towards the aquatic section.
Shay checked ever tank getting more and more worried that he had missed her. He was getting a bit frantic as he checked each aquatic tank failing miserbly. He sighed softly as he got near the end. "She's...gone..." He whispered feeling tears brewing in his eyes. "I was to late....she'll never find her mother now..." Sniffling lightly missing the turn that lead down enougher hall way of tanks and cages. He rubbed his eyes softly. "Sorry master...I wasted your time."

Lora sighed and looked around the rings. There were too many people in this humid building. The fact that it was so hot in Corpus Christi to begin with didn’t help with the temperature in the room. With all the heat and all the sweat people were producing, the air felt pungent and thick. She found it hard to stay alive in these conditions. Already producing the limits of water she was able to, she probably wouldn’t be able to survive much longer.
It was too bad that her seller hadn’t placed her in the aquatic section. He hadn’t even bothered to consider that if she produces her own water, maybe she came from the ocean. However, her owner didn’t make the connection and hadn’t wanted to put out the money for the tanks anyways. The rings had cages and tanks and rooms based on the types of slaves being sold, but that didn’t mean that you could house your slave in the fancier aquatic tanks or bigger rooms free.
Nothing caught Lora’s interest today. She was too tired and bored. There wasn’t anything exciting going on. Usually there would be some commotion or something but nothing had happened yet today. She was about to take a nap, seeing no other point in being awake for nothing, when she smelt something. It was familiar and it was close by. Sniffing the air, she noted that the familiar scent was headed away from her towards the—she sniffed again—aquatic area. Lora sat up a bit more in her cage, producing more water, pushing herself even further to her limits, to be able to catch that now distant scent. Sniffing once more, taking in a deep breath and looking like she her lungs had taken in their last big gulp, she caught the scent and her eyes shot open.
It was Seamus! He was here and he was headed to the aquatic area. Lora sat up a bit more and tried to search for his face or something. There was no way for her to contact him—sadly she hadn’t received telepathy like some nixies—but she had to make sure that he was okay and all right. Why was he here again anyways? His master wasn’t returning him, was he?
Deciding that she couldn’t just let him leave, she had to do something to get his attention. Taking in another deep breath, she waited to find the right high pitch and then screamed. “Seamus!” Lora hoped that his siren like voice wouldn’t be the only trait he inherited from his mother. Hopefully he had their hearing abilities as well. Living under water changed your ability to hear drastically from those on land. Lora heard a bang on the top of her cage and a whip hit her side. “Be quiet and behave!” Glaring to the man, Lora shouted again, hoping Seamus would hear her. Even if he were being returned, even if he was here for another reason, whatever he was here for, she wouldn’t let him leave without being able to confirm that he was alright.

The sadness in Seamus' eyes made King's insides twist, which he didn't like in the slightest, he didn't want to think he cared about such a boy in that kind of way and was even denying it from himself. He let a gentle hand rest on his shoulder and he gave a small sigh. "Maybe they moved her?" He said with some force, though he didn't see why on earth a aquatic creature would be anywhere other than the place Seamus had already searched. It was then that something horrid assaulted King's ears. It was high pitched enough to make him physically wince and the cat within his large coat mewed with displeasure.
King growled, placing a thing finger in his ear and trying to try and make his ears feel a little normal again after what ever it was that had made that noise in the first place. He looked around, trying to stop something that could explain the pain he had just felt, but even standing tall over the crowds, he could not see anyone that looked 'aquatic' that may have yelled his servants name.

His name rang in his ears making him look up. He blinked and closed his eyes. concerntrating as hard as he could. It reached him a second time and he turned heel and ran in the direction. Leaving King behind his feet pounding on the concrete trying to ignore the ache in his shins. I'm coming.... he taught as he found the turn and rand down the cages almost falling over one of the keepers who shouted at him and kicked the mop water at him. the water splashed over him but he didn't care as he saw the cage and skidded his hands slamming agaist the glass. "LORA!" he cheered happily seeing her still there and safe.

Lora didn’t know if it had worked or not, but she felt the whip hit her side again. Her seller gave her a warning look but she didn’t care. She would shout again if the scent was headed for the door, she needed to make sure that he was safe. Ever since she met him, she had felt a familiar attachment to him. She saw him as a younger brother in a way. And she couldn’t just let him leave without knowing that he was all right.
Lora was about to scream again when she smelt him. Looking around frantically, she saw the redhead running down the aisle. “Seamus!” she called out more quietly this time but still with a bit of urgency in her voice. As the boy slid to the cage, his hands slamming into the walls, she couldn’t help but smile. She would have teared up if she weren’t already exhausting her water reserves. “Seamus, it’s so good to see you! How are you, are you being treated well? You’re not being returned are you?” like when they first met, she couldn’t stop talking.
She looked him over, her hands running down the glass separating them. She wished that she could hug him. She had wanted to that first day when he was so sad and lonely. Yet, they were able to meet again and she still couldn’t hold him. “What’re you doing here?” She had a wide smile on her face, her eyes shining to see the boy looking so well.

King felt a sudden jolt when he realised the boy had ran so fast away from him. He gave a small glare, walking at the same pace he had done before in the same direction, watching as merchants swore and people were pushed out the way, they all receive the same dark look from King and they immediately stopped, his reputation was well known it seemed. He walked still, petting the small cat for comfort as he followed the familiar smell of Seamus towards where ever he had stopped at.
Eventually seeing the boy near a women in a tank King's heart sank a little, she was wet... great. He wasn't going to enjoy his new servant as much as he had hoped, and more over, she was going to take attention away from him and this strangely annoyed him more than it normally would. He stopped his pace, staying a few meters away from where the two were, he didn't want to spy on them, he would just wait, until his wallet was needed. What an evil look King must have had at this thought.

"I came looking for you!" He said softly feeling happiness seep into him wishing the glass wasn't there so he could touch her. A voice nagged him in his head. 'you can break it...you know the pitch' He shook it off but part of him was running high on adrenilin and all he wanted to do was run with her. Go to the ocean and play freely in the water. Guess the bath tub was not quite filling in the need as he had hoped. He shook his head seeing how dried out she looked and bit his lip. He couldn't lose someone important to him. The adrenilin flooded his veins as he smiled to her. "I'll get you out." He stroked the glass feeling its frequency tremble agaist his fingers. " I promise..." His mind had forgotten King and all he could do was not lose someone he considered family. His mother...father and his grandfather like figure were lost to him now. He could lose Lora. "Cover your ears..."
Before he knew what he was doing he let out a screech. A high pitched screech which caused the glass to break and shatter and people to wince in pain and cover there ears. He reached out grabbing Lora's hand and turned running for the exit laughing the whole way. He was on a weird high from his adrenilin not thinking what would happen if he got caught or that he had left his master behind. The water called them as they were the children of the water and it was beconing them.

Lora smiled. Why was he looking for her? He couldn’t possibly do anything to save her or free her from the seller’s ownership. The only way he would be able to do anything would be to buy her. As he was still running his hands over the glass, Lora noticed the same scrappy looking man from before, slowly move up behind Seamus. So, was he being returned or were they just here to visit? Sniffing a bit, she caught a feline scent off him.
Lora didn’t bother to take notice of the fact that she was drying out. She knew that it was happening, but she couldn’t do anything about it. Her seller was too cheap to get an aquatic tank for her. It was also partly because he hadn’t yet realised that she was an aquatic species. As Seamus said that he was going to get her out, and promised to do it, she couldn’t help but feel a tug on her heart. He really was sweet and like a brother to her. If they didn’t stand up for their own kin, no one would. Looking over to Seamus’ master, Lora got the feeling that he wasn’t too pleased about this whole situation.
Looking back to Seamus, she was a little confused before it hit her. He wasn’t thinking clearly. She was about to protest—figuring that his master wouldn’t bring him to see her just to leave her here—but it was too late. Seamus let out a pitch that would have deafened many around them but she was used to this sound, she spoke it fluently in the ocean. However, he wasn’t saying anything now; he would definitely break some sound barriers.
As the glass shattered, she felt his hand in hers and the tug from her position to a running speed. Why were they running? Weren’t they there to buy her? Why possibly risk being placed in jail? “Seamus, stop.” Lora couldn’t stand to think of him being placed in jail for something like this. Pulling on his arm, she was able to pull him into her arms. He may have been running fast, but she was never good at running and had slowed him down in his pursuit. As she wrapped her arms around him, she knew that there would be hell to pay.
Running her hands over his head, she ‘shh’ed him from any protests, standing firm. She didn’t like being a slave, but it was life. And doing this was considered stealing, and that was wrong too. “We don’t have to run. Your master was there Seamus. Calm down, okay. You don’t want to be put in jail for this.” She hoped that nothing too bad would happen.

King could only watch with some horror as Seamus made a pitch that almost killed his ears. He placed his hands over them with some force and growled madly with his eyes closed until the noise had stopped. It took him several minutes to regain complete hearing and by that time Seamus and Lora had already started running. He blinked, slightly confused at the whole ordeal. King couldn't help but feel a slight twinge of pain. 'He's running away with her... he's running from ME!" This was not a pleasant feeling he had, and he couldn't understand why he was feeling it, he had never really felt attached to anyone before, well, not like this.
King looked sad as he walked towards the incredibly angry merchant, taking out a rather large amount of money and handing it to him, he wasn't going to have any of this come back to him so paying off the merchant seemed the best way about it; it was clear to see the money was enough for at least three attractive slaves and some of the damages. "Seamus!!!" King roared, looked back over at the two had now stopped, gaining rather a large crowd after what they had done, but the yellow eyes of King were by far the most worrying. He walked towards them both, his tall figure easily pushing through the crowds, the small white and black cat popping her head out of the coat to see what was going on.

Shay was trembling in her arms. The adrenilin rush was slowly fading as he gripped her sides weakly. "Come on...we need to get you to water...before you dry out..." He protested weakly. He had felt responcerble for his entire life for his mothers death. To the point he couldn't even look at pictures of her or ever quite look his father in the eye before they were parted. She had dried out because she couldn't risk birthing him her natural way. And then he wasn't a simple birth. softly tugging her again he looked behind him. "Theres a fountain over there..." But the words died in his throat as he remebered that he had ran off and left his master behind.

Lora couldn’t help but smile to him. Her hands ruffled his hair as he trembled in her arms. She didn’t want him to be scared. As he said that he had to get her to water, she couldn’t help but smile to him, kissing the top of his head. “Seamus, I’m fine. It’s just very humid here. As long as I get something to drink, I’ll be fine. Don’t worry.” Lora tried to soothe him. She knew that he was afraid of her drying out. After he told her about what happened to his mother, it was understandable why he would be so worried for her.
She smiled to him, holding his body more tightly to hers, her hand rubbing his back reassuringly. It was then that she noticed the scrappy man approaching. She didn’t know what to do but as the man roared Seamus’ name, she didn’t think that this would end well. Should she say something? Pulling away from him gently and slowly, still holding Seamus’ hand for support; she turned more to face the scrappy man. “Hello. I am Lora Neried. I assume you are Seamus’ master . . .” Was she supposed to say anything else? She had no idea what to do. “May I ask for something to drink sir? Seamus seems to be worried about my drying out. I’m sure a glass of water would replenish my reserve and calm his nerves, sir . . .”
She didn’t want to act as if she knew what would be best for the poor boy. All that she really knew about him was what they had discussed in that short time before he was sold. However, his mother died from drying out, and the way that the boy had come to see her, even running away from his master, she knew that this would devastate him. If he were to lose someone else because of the same situation, he may never recover mentally from it. “I am also sorry for the incident sir.” Lora tried to be polite to the scrappy, feline man. She didn’t want to disrespect him. Even if she didn’t like being a slave, it was part of life and it would be rude to disrespect him because of her position in this society. And she never went against her beliefs.

King stood, towering over the both of them, looking more frustrated and angry than he had done since meeting Seamus, which he realised only minutes later must have been rather worrying for them both. His yellow eyes scanned over the two and as she spoke the words he tried to listen without yelling again. It was later after he had taken a few breaths that he looked at Lora directly. "Arcarus King..." He muttered, still with anger in his voice but he seemed to be trying to keep it back in public, he was VERY aware of the people around staring at them. "Don't apologizes. Just get what you need and try not to cause any more damn trouble."
The small cat in King's coat tried to lick his hand, but the man seemed too angered to even notice it. He couldn't look at Seamus, he knew if he did things inside his head would only get worse and there would be a lot more yelling, King knew his temper well and it wasn't a good idea to have a rage in public. He went through his pocket and handed a small bag of money to Lora before turning away. "Get what you want, it seems money is all I'm good for." He scowled, making sure to start walking away. He was sure Seamus would eventually make his way home after they got what they wanted, if they in fact were going to come back to him, King was in too much of a mood to trust them both, and a small hint of sadness washed over him at the idea.

Shay blinked stared up at him confused as he walked away. He reached out grabbing his coat sleeve. "Where are you going?" He asked confused whimpering slightly as he clung to the coat sleeve nerveously almost ready to let go if Arcarus's rage went wild. Large scared green eyes met furiocious golden ones. "I'm sorry..." He whimpered wanting for Arcarus to comfirm that everything would be okay.
He never saw Arcarus for his money. He saw what was inside the man. The joyful happy times they had. The man who had saved him from being sold to someone who would harm him. The man who held him close when he was sick for comfort as Seamus had ran his fingers through his hair to ease the pain. He sighed softly resting his his forehead agaist him. "Your...so much more then that to me master.....more then im brave enough to tell you." he whispered softly unsure if he was even heard.
