Panther shrugged. "Well, I wasn't exactly given that much of an opportunity," he said. "I guess they knew that, too, because I wasn't exactly free to do much for months afterwards. They kept me indoors, kept an eye on me...And they were all, y'know, older, and I was young and weak, so I couldn't really do much. Plus, I wasn't a fighter when I was human. I was just...y'know, a normal guy, I guess." A dad, he thought, half bitter, half mournful.
"I don't think I went mad, though. I don't go...mad. I get angry. I beat up a lotta their furniture and walls." A memory came back to the surface as he spoke. Flashes of bloodstains, crimson spatters on splintered wood and peeling wallpaper in dark rooms set to echoes of howling screams made him physically wince. His blood, from scraped knuckles and raw fingertips. His mouth tensed in distaste. More things dredged up from the past. "It helped me get past the first few days."
God, it had been sick. Sick and depraved and filled with things he just did not ever think about. Maybe he would go mad if he remembered it all. Living through it, taking it day by day, living for that chance at freedom, the whole ordeal spread out over two long years, it had been okay. But now, it had been pushed away for so long, to have it all come rushing back at once...that would end him. For a while, at least.
"Maybe I just got lucky," he half-mumbled. Sin's revelation explained the behavior of some Vampires, though. Maybe some of them never quite recovered from the change. Maybe that was why they acted so crazy, so filled with bloodlust, so animal-like. He made a noise along the lines of "Eigh" as he thought about it, his black eyes tracing a blade of darkened grass.

Sin seemed to have gone silent, and it was the same inside her head. She tried to think about being kept against her will, tried to see how Panther might have seen it but her mind could not come to terms with it. She gave a quiet sigh, without even realising she had done it. She did not feel sorry for Panther, in fact, she was rather impressed by how he had come through it. Making sure to look up at the sky Sin tried to focus her eyes on some of the stars, which was difficult because of her eyesight.
After a few minutes Sin was jolted from her thoughts by the small raven pecking at her hand, she hissed at it, as if she were seriously hurt but the bird didn't seem to fear her. "I can't say anything that will make it better, but if you have any questions feel free to ask me..." Sin gave him a look as if he were at a great distance, maybe even looking through him rather than at him and her voice was very fluttery, as if she were in a dream. She carefully gave her little bird a few strokes on it's wings with two fingers before picking him up and placing him on her lap. It was strange, she acted as if the bird were some sort of cat or dog rather than what it was and she started to smile again, a rather wicked smile which she usually wore during work.

In the few minutes of Sin's silence, Panther's words hung in the air like a curtain around him. Lost in nothingness, he actually flinched slightly when she spoke again.
Again with the questions. That was the second time she'd offered, but he didn't have any. He wasn't as interested in her past as she seemed to be in his. He didn't think he'd have as much sympathy, or pity, for whatever she'd been though. He carried neither for anyone, including himself.
"It doesn't need to be made better," he muttered, looking down at the bird as she played with it. he didn't like that smile at all, but whatever was going on in her head, he probably didn't want to know. "I make it better by hunting down Vampires like the ones that did that to me so they don't get another chance to f...to mess up more people's lives. I don't need pity, you know. You asked me, I'm not looking to share a sob story with you."
He sighed, and looked up at Sin, ignoring her smile. "So what do you do, to stay outta trouble? I've seen you at the Villain, I know you work there...I don't exactly have a lot of Vampire friends, so I don't really know how most of 'em live if they're not out tormenting people for fun..."
He knew it wasn't correct, but a large part of him could shake the belief that this was all vampires did. Slept during the day, ran around at night and bit people for kicks or abducted them from the street. And sometimes got together to talk about how much fun it was to bite people and show off their latest abductees-turned-slaves. If she didn't believe in slavery or keep slaves as she claimed, what did Sin do with her life? Collect undersized hats and breed large black birds?

Sin watched as he spoke and giggled to herself, What a proud man~ She thought, she didn't pity him and found it rather odd that he would say not to. She could help but smile as he tried not to swear also, it was a rather nice thing to do in front of a lady. She thought for a moment, what HAD she been doing to keep herself out of trouble. Well not a lot, she actually had gotten into more 'trouble' recently that before, though trouble for her meant being told off and having to run away from people who looked a little too angry to calm down with her womanly charms. She petted the little cooing bird absentmindedly and removed her hat, placing it down on the floor besides her.
"Well that's a hard one..." She muttered, still thinking over the question, she wasn't sure if she wanted to tell the truth just yet, but she couldn't lie. Sin happily decided to telling him a little of the truth. "Well, I work at the villain most nights and when I don't work I roam around planning how to free slaves from cruel masters~ That and write to my other little sins~" This was, to Sin's suprise, the WHOLE truth, which she hadn't really planned on telling, but somehow it had just slipped out. She looked rather confused at herself for a long time before blushing and hiding her face in her hands. "I'm not some sort of freedom fighter or anything! And the other sins well... um!" Sin looked flustered, she wasn't meant to speak about the others, they had all agreed a long time ago. SHIT!" She thought to herself, wanting to suddenly hide, it was rather a cute thing to behold.

It was a pity that "cute" and "Vampire" didn't really mix in Panther's book. Or did it? He was softening to her charm little by little, slowly coming to grips with the fact that maybe this Asian cutie wasn't putting on an act for him.
Other sins though? It felt familiar that she was a sin of something, but he couldn't remember what any more than he'd been able to remember that she was a "Sin" easier. And she plotted ways to free slaves? That just sounded false, but he wasn't about to call her out on it. She said she wasn't a freedom fighter or anything, after all, as if that was a bad thing. So she just imagined a better world, but didn't bother to change it? The notion didn't bother him as much as one might think it ought to have. He didn't judge good people on their lack of action. His self-appointed job wasn't an easy one, and he didn't think he himself would be able to do it if he wasn't kin to the nightmares he hunted.
"What about 'em?" he pressed, referring to the "other" sins she'd trailed off about. "You got, like, sisters or something?" Or brood-mates? Or whatever Vampires called each other when they shared a common...Vampire...bloodline...thing. They probably weren't sisters; people didn't refer to their direct family by a name along those lines. They just referred to them as...family.
And what was she so flustered about? He wasn't supposed to know about them, was he? Well, her mistake, and his interest was piqued. She had invited him to ask questions. Twice.

Sin was still having a little cute fit behind her hands as she heard Panther talk, she had done it now. She knew she wouldn't be hurt for mentioning the others, but she would be punished... eventually. She looked out from behind her fingers at him, watching his eyes very carefully with hers. She had started this, and said she would answer questions honestly, now she regretted it. With a deep breath Sin came out from behind her hands, looking still a little flustered but a lot more calm than before. "Honestly... There are more of us... the sins. We used to live together, taking on a role of trying to stop the whole slave thing..." There was a hint of sadness in Sin's voice as she spoke about her 'friends', she missed them a whole lot.
She smiled again, wondering what Panther would think of this information, it was hard to think of a bunch of people all living together plotting for world 'peace' (or as they liked to call it, domination). "I know what you are thinking: Pfft, what a silly idea. We knew that, but we all had our reasons to want to try and help them... “ Sin couldn’t help but giggle at herself, mostly because she was imagineing where her ‘friends’ would be now, and it was then that something caught her attention. She looked at the horizon. There was still no sign of the sun, but she could feel it coming soon and it made her body twitch. She smiled at Panther once more and gave him a slight wink, flirting a little as she often did. “So handsome, you going to walk me home, pretending you wont come after me to kill me someday?” Of course, Sin meant this as a joke, and it came through in her voice but secretly she hoped what she said would be true, she liked this man, and fancied the idea of staying friends. She stood, brushing herself down a little and placed her top hat on top of her head again smiling down, offering a gloved hand to Panther.

Panther waved her hand away and hauled himself up on his own, falsely believing he'd just pull her back down if he tried to take her offer.
"Thanks," he muttered concerning the refused help, "but I've got a couple more questions before you go." Unlike Sin, he couldn't sense the sun coming up soon. He had no clue how late into the night it was, and he made no move to walk. Plus, as far as he was concerned, here they parted, since she didn't want him to know where she lived. "Why do you call yourselves Sins if you try to do...like, good things?" Evil and good. They sounded like such weird concepts.
And why was she so secretive about it? And where were the rest of them? And why didn't they act on these things? If she was so powerfully old, all her other "Sins" must have been, too. Why didn't they do things they imagined? He'd work with a group in a heartbeat if he could find one he felt comfortable in...

Sin smiled, the man was still a young vampire, and she realised he must not have the sense of knowing the time. She also seemed to like his curisity rather a lot; though she was not meant to talk about her 'friends' she couldn't help but want to with this man, he seemed nice even though he was a little scary. She turned her back on him, rather swiftly and paced, first away before turning back and walking back to Panther, she seemed to be thinking. "We've all done terrible things, and we all have powers... I can tell if people are lying, and since my past wasn't something I spoke about they thought I was lying."
There was a wash of remorse over Sin's face, she couldn't help but fiddle with her gloves ever so carefully, trying to figure out what she should do. She wanted so much to have one of them here in which to look after, especially the small one. She smiled up at Panther again before pointing behind him, at the horizon. "The sun will be coming up very soon, well, in an hour or so~ Would you like to walk and talk?" Sin pondered, still fiddling with her little gloves as the small raven by her feet seemed to play with Panther's shoe.

Panther took a hesitant step forward as Sin began to pace, but realized quickly that she was coming back and backpedaled. It took him a few seconds to work out what she might have meant by that part about the other "Sins" thinking she was lying. Did that mean she herself couldn't lie, as well as being able to detect other lies?
He didn't look behind him as she pointed; he had long since trained himself not to turn his attention from a pointing Vampire. He knew the general direction of sunrise.
"Where to?" he asked. He did drop a glance to the bird at his shoe, but ignored it. It could peck the old sneakers to pieces of it wanted to; he needed new ones anyway. "I thought you didn't want me knowing where you lived." He raised his eyes to her again.

Sin loved how curious Panther seemed to be about her, she hadn't had anyone this interested in her OR suspicious around her in such a long time and she found it thrilling. Her looks for a long time had been able to fool even the most distrusting of men walk with her without batting an eyelid and this, to her, was rather annoying. She liked this man being on his toes, not even looking towards the horizon when she pointed and she smiled more than usual. She wanted to link arms with the man, but knew better than this, as he was a very careful man and she swung herself around, facing the direction that her house would eventually be in.
"If you didn't know where I lived, how would I ever see you again?" She sounded so innocent saying this, and truthful. She liked Panther a lot, he was truly an interesting man to spend a night with, and she was worried that it would be the only night she would see him. A friend like this she would NOT let slip through her fingers, not again. As she walked her pace was rather slow, she knew it would take a little while before the sun rose, and there wasn't that much time before they reached her small little flat. She wanted it to last a little longer.
With a small sigh Sin kicked her heals, wondering if it was the right time to ask her new friend his usual 'night habits'. She wondered if he was in the park a lot, because if he was, it would be a convenient thing for her. "Panther? Do you sit in the park a lot?" Sin's question was quiet, and most unlike herself, as if she had been a little to shy to ask.

Whoa, did she want him coming to her house? That was a one-eighty.
Panther nodded, hands in his pockets. "Yeah, good places to...hunt. A lot of early risers try to catch the late-night humans on their way back home, I like to try to stop that if I can. And it's a good place to overhear conversations and attract attention by pretending to be a bum."
He looked around the park. It was clearing out quickly, the last of the night shift heading for the exits to make way for the sunrise joggers. They ought to be going wherever Sin decided they were going. He hoped he could make it back to his place at this rate.
"Y'know, I come to the Laughing Villain pretty often, you'd see me there if you didn't want to show me your place." Did he want to be trapped there with her? He wouldn't terribly mind it, spending the day.
He frowned suddenly. Would he? She was a Vampire, what if this was some convoluted trap? No, he couldn't spend the day there, he had to get home. It wasn't safe. He could walk her there and double-time it back, his dark skin afforded him some slight measure of protection against the thin early-morning rays. He could make it.

Sin couldn't help but smile at him, even though he had mentioned 'hunting', which was a weird thing to hear, she didn't mind terribly. She walked along and before she knew it there was her set of flats, standing out rather a lot due to there being so many nice looking houses and then this block of fancy, yet very tall looking flats. She turned, looking at Panther with an innocent smile on her face. The fact that he was in the park often was a good thing for Sin, as she often walked through the park on her way home from work.
"Well, if you are ever at the Villain, I'll get you a drink on the house~" She giggled, placing a very gentle hand on his arm, still gloved so she wouldn't see anything. She pointed at the direction of the park, knowing he wouldn't look but it was a strange habit she had. "I walk that way home a lot, so hopefully I'll see you again?" She asked in a very sweet tone, hoping that she had indeed made a friend.

Panther actually managed a half- bitter laugh as Sin mentioned alcohol.
"Yeah you'll probably see me," he told her, looking down at her hand on his arm but not moving away from the touch. "But don't buy me a drink." he looked back up at her. "I've got a bad enough addiction without it being free." He was smirking, though. The mention of drinks somehow put him in a good mood. It felt...normal. It was the kind of thing he talked about with regular girls he brought home. Drinks and bars and lifestyles and such.
He turned his dark eyes to the houses. Nice places. She did pretty well for herself, he supposed. Better than he was in his borderline slums...
