Precious little in this world made the Panther feel unconditionally okay with his life. Alcohol chased away the cares sometimes, pretty women helped him accept himself, but more often than not both of those were gone by the morning, leaving empty solitude and punishing sobriety in their wake.
Hunting was perhaps the single light in his life. It was the reason he kept living. Hunting Vampires made him feel like he gave back to the world; it justified his existence and inhuman thirst, It was a kinder companion, leaving satisfaction and no small amount of cash behind when all was said and done.
Tonight he was on the prowl again. Well, really, he was on the bench, but he was also on the prowl. He sat on a park bench in the dark, layers of clothing piled on him despite the August night heat, hunched over like a sickly hobo, a large tweed jacket, scarf covering his nose and mouth, and knit wool cap as his outerwear. half disguise, half bait, he eyed the locals as they meandered about suspiciously, occasionally casting him uncertain glances. He was good at certain auras by now, and could tell from a decent distance away which were Vampires and which were demons, though what type of demons he couldn't yet tell. Any of them was potential prey, though.
The only ones really safe from his gaze were the non-humans, all the other auras in the park. He couldn't yet tell werewolves and shifters apart from one another, but he could tell if they weren't human. Shifters didn't matter to him, though. Only demonspawn, and Vampires especially...

Sin walked through the park with a skip in her step. The dark had really made the park look beautiful tonight and it was making her skin tingle with excitement. She was so full and a little drunk so she had no cares in the world what so ever. She stopped, seeing no one around -Due to her bad vision- she threw her arms up in the air and fell backwards onto her bum, smiling like an idiot. There was a squawk that caught her attention and sitting up straight she whistled through her fingers, not caring about the attention she may have attracted to herself and the large Raven she had called landed rather clumsily on the floor beside her, nudging her with it's beak.
Sin took a few nuts she had bought from the bar that had been in her coat pocket and placed them in front of the raven and watched it gobble them greedily before jumping into her lap. She smiled and stroked it's feathers lovingly."So cute~ <3"

Of course she attracted the Panther's attention. He was leery of anyone nearby, and her approach hadn't gone unnoticed. He started to turn his attention elsewhere, but a spark of familiarity made him double-take. He recognized her. Wasn't that one of the new staff at the Laughing Villain?
It didn't take more than half a second to confirm that she was. Even from as far away as he sat, he could easily see her features with excellent night vision.
He watched her for a few moments as she watched the bird beside her. Was that a raven? It was much to big to be a crow...Was it a pet? Panther had never seen wild ravens around these parts. He'd never seen a raven at all in his life.
What was her name? He couldn't remember. It had something to do with...It was something he didn't like. It was a nickname, though, that the bartender had given him when he'd asked a few nights ago. He hadn't approached her then, and in fact had kept his distance. She was a Vampire, albeit a working one, which was better than the usual fare he killed. He didn't go to the Laughing Villain that often because it openly catered to everything that walked in its doors, and because it employed people like her, but he was no stranger to the place, either...
What was she doing here? He could smell the faint trace of alcohol around her from this distance, but it didn't tell him how inebriated she might be....
He shifted his clothing awkwardly, feeling suddenly uncomfortably in the presence of a lady who despite being a Vampire might also be a somewhat reputable citizen, but he didn't yet take his black eyes from her and the enormous bird she was feeding.

Sin played with the little bird for a while before kissing it's little head gently before laying back down. She could hear people around her but she didn't care, she never cared too much about people looking at her. She smiled up at the sky before sighing, she had just remember why she was walking through the park, she needed to go home. It was so far away from home, she just wanted to sleep here. Getting up with some effort she brushed herself down and smiled as the raven jumped on her shoulder.
She began to walk slowly towards the panther's direction, tipping her top hat to him casually, not seeing much danger in it. She didn't see much danger in anything these days.

By contrast, the Panther saw danger in nearly everything, including, potentially, this young woman and what was apparently her pet. He pulled the scarf off his face and loosened it around his neck to let him speak as she approached.
"What's your business here?" he asked, still watching her. His voice was smooth and deep, and carried very easily. He wished he remembered her name.
She was cute, though. Very pretty, as many Vampires often were, and accented by her dress. Pretty women always did things to him, things that bothered him, but things he could scarcely help. And she was Asian, too. He liked anything different from the "norm," and she qualified, in not only ethnicity, but dress, too. Still, he remained on guard.

Sin stopped dead, staring at the man with her large white eyes. She found this statement a little rude and she wagged a finger at him as if he were a naughty child. "Mummy told me it's not safe to tell strange men what you're up to~" She purred, a cheeky grin on her face, knowing that no one ever told her such a thing, but she couldn't help herself. "But for your cutey, I guess I can tell." She leaned forwards cutely and bit her own lip ring, the one that was on the left side before giggling.
"I'm walking home, where I'll plan some more of my world domination!" She leaned back again and laughed, the raven on her shoulder squawking as if it were laughing along with her. She winked at the panther to show it was a joke and before turning her back on him she bowed politely and began to walk again, but she was sure he'd have something to say, so knew she wouldn't get very far

The cute routine. Yeah, she was a little inebriated, but it had the effect of disarming what could have been a dangerous situation. Panther didn't take well to women being cute, Vampires often liked to toy with their prey that way, but talking down to them. She didn't say anything about his being a Vampire, though...
But for you, cutey... Her words lingered awkwardly in his mind. Even drunk, he liked those kinds of compliments. Although "cute" wasn't exactly a common one, not for him. He was a little too big and slightly too old for that. Still, she seemed harmless. Keyword being seemed.
He'd follow her. He decided that. She was really teetering on the border of cute and dangerous, and even though she wasn't serious about world domination, she could just be playing with a fellow Vampire whom she might have assumed would let her go on her merry way to take a life carelessly in cute and innocent viciousness.
He wasn't sure if he'd kill her if she did try to kill a victim, but he'd probably stop her and force her not to feed while drunk...
"Y'know it's dangerous out there for a lady like yourself to be walking around at this time of night with a few drinks in her," he called after her, hunching forward and pulling the scarf off his neck entirely to play with it in his hands.

The words caught her attention and she spun on her heel to look at him again, cocking her head with a smirk. She took a step closer to him and played with the rings on her fingers. This man was obviously interested in something about her, she could smell it and it was a good idea to keep her wits about her right now. Her eyes may not have been great but she knew the smell of a vampire killer. She slyly took the glove off one of her hands and pushed it into her pocket.
"Now Mr.~" She began, almost humming the words, "I really haven't drank too much!" She started to laugh a little, mostly because she was amused by herself more than him. "It is a little dangerous out here though, You offering to walk me home?" She was smiling and she petted the raven who was cooing at the panther, the raven obviously didn't trust him.

Panther disregarded the bird. Despite his nickname, he was rather apathetic where animals were concerned.
He considered her offer for a moment. Guard the park, escort a pretty lady home. Guard the park...escort a pretty lady home. Guard the lady...It would be taking one possibly prowling Vampire off the streets.
"...I might be," he said. He wasn't concerned for her safety. Any woman who was willing to let a big black Vampire sitting in a park walk her home obviously had some greater issues than safety on her mind, or else was extremely capable.
He rose to his feet, stuffing the scarf into some part of his jacket somewhere, and pulling his cap off and doing the same with it. "Are you accepting the offer?" he asked. "The name's Panther, by the way, Miss...?"

Sin stood onto her tip toes and extended a hand to gesture greeting."Nice to Meet you Mr.Panther~ My name is Sin! And I'd happily accept the offer, being alone isn't that fun~" She giggled, she wanted to watch people's reactions to her nickname, she liked the look of this man, he seemed rather secretive, rather sad and Sin was always feeling the need to cheer people like that up. She watched Panther closely, checking each movement he made to make sure it wasn't threatening, but nothing about her persona showed that she was even bothered in the slightest.
Sin's little raven cooed a few more times before hopping off her shoulder and sitting on the floor, as if it was having a tantrum. There was a brief moment of pause where Sin looked down to blow a small sweet kiss at the bird but then she kept direct eye contact with Panther wondering what she would see when he touched her hand. She smirked as a few ideas went through her head, she guessed he was a young vampire, and she guessed he didn't have much company.

Panther didn't hesitate in returning a firm handshake to the young lady. Rather masculine of her in his opinion, but friendly all the same. Sin, though. A hint of recognition flashed across his face. Yes, that was the nickname the bartender had given him, the nickname he didn't like. She gave it too, though, and while she was off work...maybe it was her name.
The raven drew his attention once again, and he frowned down at it as he released Sin's hand.
"I don't think your bird much likes me," he commended. Well, maybe he didn't much like it either. If its owner was found to be engaged in the typical careless disregard for life that most other night creatures seemed so fond of, maybe it knew it wouldn't have one much longer.
He raised his head to Sin once again. "does it not like strangers in general, or just me?" A comment about skin color jealousy flashed through his mind, but he held it back. Not in present company. He'd only just met her.

In the few seconds the panther had held Sin's hand she saw flashes of his history. She had been right, he was young, and a loner, she smirked to herself when she realised this but looked a little off put for a second. So, he kills vampires... She thought, with a slight hint on unease, wondering why if he had guessed what she was had not tried anything yet. Sin then withdrew her hand, making sure to place her glove firmly back on it. She looked at him with somewhat clouded eyes and smiled, a strange, almost fond smile.
"Murder, that's his name by the way, isn't fond of the smell of vampire blood... and he can smell it on you~" This comment wasn't said with any hint of fear, nor anger, Sin just said it as a fact because that is all she saw it as. She then turned and began walking in the direction that her home was in, slowly and expecting panther to follow her, as he had offered to walk her. She wondered for a minute if she should as about what she had seen when she had touched him. Most people became angry when she told them, and she didn't fancy explaining her powers much. For now, she would stay quiet, and maybe inquire about it later.

Panther did indeed follow Sin for a few moments before catching up to and walking beside her, on her left. He thought nothing of the handshake besides it being a friendly gesture. In fact, he found it rather courteous of her that she'd take a glove off just to greet him. He hadn't heard anything special about the girl from the bartender at the Villain.
"I imagine he could, I am a Vampire," he said once he'd caught up. He also found it strange that a creature that didn't like Vampire blood would be a pet of one. "Was the bird your pet before you became a Vampire?" he asked her. He had no idea what her age was, or the age of the bird, or what the lifespan of a bird like that was.

Sin chuckled to herself watching Panther catch up to her and she made sure to walk close to him as they did. She also made sure to look back every now and then to make sure the little bird was following them both, which he was, but slowly. She turned to look up at the tall man besides her while walking and blushes a little at his comment of her age. "Oh sir, you are a flatterer!" She gave him a gentle nudge with her small hands and there was a small skip in her step now. "Birds don't live very long at all, and I am a LOT older than you, even though I don't look it~"
She sighed looking up at the stars, and even though her eyesight was bad she could make out small coloured lights in the sky. It had been a long time since she was turned and the subject was not one she spoke of often, but she knew about Panther already, it was only fair to share a little more about herself. "There have been a fair few years between my turning and getting Murder. I've had at least 50 birds before him too. Singing birds, carrier pigeons, all sorts. Raven's are my favorite so far, so moody~"

Panther reflexively scowled in both distaste as Sin nudged him and curiosity at her immediate response. He didn't like to be too close to Vampires or strangers in general, and he wasn't sure what she had been flattered by. He had a bit of an "Oh!" moment when he ralized that she was playfully accusing him of commenting that she looked young, and his expression softened. He might have smiled among more familiar company.
So she liked birds, did she? He couldn't imagine a Vampire with a songbird. He wasn't even sure what songbirds were, but he imagined something like a bright yellow canary perched on her little hat-thing singing its heart out. He wondered how long fifty birds translated to in years, if she was supposedly so very much older than him.
"I'm not much of a bird person myself," he admitted. He wasn't much of an animal person at all. He'd been under the impression that most animals didn't care for Vampires, anyway. "How do you know how old I am, though?" he asked her. "We don't exactly age. For all you know, I might be hundreds and hundreds of years old." She couldn't possibly just assume he was younger based on how he acted...right? Unless she was, say, old as the hills. Which she didn't exactly appear to be...
