Nate had been teasing Remi all afternoon about the possibility of a new pet. The angel had bought a slinky toy, thinking that it was a living creature and had been a little disheartened when he realised that it was just a coil of plastic. So he'd promised to buy him a real pet, something little and easy to care for until Nate was sure he could be trusted with something a little more complex. So as he looked around the pet shop, he tried to figure out what would be best. He didn't want Remi to be thrown into the deep end with this caring for animals malarkey so a cat or a chinchilla was definitely out. Being terrified of dogs as he was, Nate wasn't going to let a puppy run around his house. A gerbil or hamster might work, but it would be asleep during the day and wouldn't exactly be great company for Remi...not to mention the squeaky exercises wheels at night. He sighed and looked around before seeing the sweetest little pet he'd seen for a long time.
The little black and orange goldfish was lazily swimming concentric circles around it's bowl. It seemed easy enough to care for, wouldn't take too much space and couldn't really escape. He smiled and looked closer, checking the little creature was fit and healthy; the last thing he wanted was for Remi to fit it dead on his first day of caring for the poor thing. Alerting the shop-keeper of his interest in the fish, he bought the tank, fish and a little ornate castle then headed back to the house, texting Remiel as he walked.
"Got your pet xx" he texted and looked to the fish, he should let Remi name it...but Lola seemed so right for the little fish. It had sparkle and charisma that seemed right for the little fishy and her big, elegant wavy fins. "Me and Lola are heading home now xx"
