Ethan finally arrived at the park. It had been awhile since he had done anything outdoors other then on his property but he felt like a change. So he had packed his backpack with all sorts of goodies ranging from his packed lunch to the bottle of whiskey he had waiting for him once he found a nice little spot to sit down.
As he walked he took a few puffs from his joint and just relaxed. Being in nature was one of his favorite things to do but didn't do ir very often but when he did he loved it. Walking through the trees he could sense their age and pride. He saw animals wandering by all in a hurry. Ethan was in a state of pure ecstasy with all the nature around him. Finally he made his way to a little meadow about six miles from his car.
He sat down and took out his lunch and bottle of whiskey. He took a few quick pulls of the bottle and put it away. He wasn't trying to get drunk just have some fun. So he started eating his lunch looking into the woods. Being a Druid he could sense all the life that was brimming from this place. It made him happy and a real happy not one that alcohol usually tried to pretend to be but one that actually made you proud to be alive.
After his quick lunch a few more pulls out of his bottle and put it away. He pulled out another joint from his pocket, lit it up and took a nice long puff and blew the smoke out with a smile. Finally he pulled a book out of his backpack and started to read it. The book was Machiavelli's "The Prince". It was book he had read before but every time he read it he felt more and more like the Prince who was learning how to properly rule a country. This would then lead to wild day dreams of Ethan being the ruler of this world and how he would change things. Reading, smoking and thinking at this place led Ethan to being more relaxed then he had been in awhile so he couldn't help but get distracted as someone approached him.

Brendan had been working with Emilie for quite some time but he wasn’t sure if they were anywhere close to finding an answer to his problem. It was a hard problem to solve and there wasn’t a medical way to figure out where to start. They first tried killing him and it was a little nerve wrecking. Having someone who is trying to help you, see if they can kill you first—well, he hadn’t been able to die before, but there was always the chance of, ‘what if he did die this time?’. Of course, he didn’t die, but still, it was a hard thing to do. Of course, the golem was happy and thankful that Emilie was helping him on her off days. He has gotten to spend more time with her and he liked his time with her. She was really kind and sweet. It was an added bonus that her awkward spouts of random facts didn’t bother him as his awkwardness didn’t bother her. Brendan wasn’t sure what it was, but maybe he was starting to like the woman?
However, today wasn’t one of those days. No. Today, Emilie had a lot of patient scheduled to see her and thus she was busy all day. That meant that he couldn’t go see her unless he had medical insurance, money to pay for his time in the emergency room, or actually needed to go to the emergency room. Since he couldn’t die, age or get sick, the likelihood of having to go to the hospital was slim. Instead, Brendan had decided to leave the church and go exploring today. He had noted that the priests of the church weren’t too happy about his staying there. Like most churches he’d taken refuge in, as soon as they heard he was created in the word of God and yet he wasn’t able to die, they weren’t so hospitable. It was a nice change that they were tolerant since he was seeking medical help about it, but they weren’t as friendly as when he first arrived.
Brendan walked through the park, finding it rather large for a park in a large city. He knew that the park in New York City was huge as far as parks go in large cities—he’d been able to sleep there for quite some time without getting kicked out—but this one was as well. Maybe it branched off from just being a park and into the wilderness. He had been wandering around, making sure to keep a mental track of where he had come from so he wouldn’t get lost when he smelled something odd. He had encountered the smell before but had never found out what it was. It smelled awful and yet it made him curious to find its source. Following the scent through the trees, he soon came upon a man who was reading and smoking something. Did this man know that smoking is deadlier than drinking, snorting or injecting? A fun fact of Emilie’s. Did he also know that when you smoke, it takes only seconds for it to affect the brain versus alcohol, which can take minutes to reach and affect the brain? Emilie had been so full of random fun facts they seemed to have stuck.
Nevertheless, this didn’t stop Brendan from approaching the man. He couldn’t die. He was created as a mud golem, his creator, Rabbi Joseph, died while trying to bring back the dead and somehow, he woke up in his master’s body. According to the magical practice of creating golems in the 15th century, as soon as the piece of holy paper is removed from the golem’s mouth or their creator dies, the golem dies. Since golems don’t have souls, they rely on their creators to be able to ‘live’ in a way. However, he had woken up in his master’s body and was able to feel human. It had been odd and strange, and something that has hindered him since he was created 530 years ago. He continued to approach the man, wanting to know what it was that he was smoking. He couldn’t die, so there was no worry about second-hand smoke. He’d never tried alcohol or drugs before, so he didn’t know if they would affect him or not, but surely they wouldn’t, right?
“Excuse me. I’m sorry for interrupting, but what is that?—he pointed to the joint—I’ve smelled it before, but never found out what it is.” Brendan had an innocent and naive air about him. He was innocent in a way, never been corrupted and still believing in god. However, he had an earthen feel to him, since he was originally a creation of it.

Ethan was day dreaming of what the world could be like. He envisioned a world where humans and supernatural creatures didn't hate one another because of the past. He saw a world where slaves didn't exist in any shape or form. However more importantly, at least to Ethan anyways, their was weed everywhere and it was legal and everyone was smoking. It was Ethan's perfect world, a world he longed to live in but then he snapped out of his dream world as he heard a voice talking to him.
Ethan looked up to see what appeared to be a man in his mid twenties. When Ethan heard “Excuse me. I’m sorry for interrupting, but what is that?" asked the man "I’ve smelled it before, but never found out what it is.”
Ethan about lost it. He held back a full laugh but a chuckle came out. Ethan pondered how innocent this man was yet at the same time Ethan could feel something different about him. He didn't know what it could be but the energy that all living beings give off was different. He couldn't place the feeling because even supernatural creatures had a unique feel but Ethan just blamed it on the weed and booze in his system sometimes when he was decided to get a little messed up it affected his powers.
Still Ethan didn't want to deprive this young man of the magic and power of weed and maybe make a new client. Never hurt to have to many clients especially now that weed wasn't to big of a deal. "Well my friend this is weed, the sticky stuff, the mean green, the purps, the good stuff, the green crack" Ethan had a ton of different names so he ended with "but really this is an indica heavy Northern Lights also know as marijuana" Ethan had a little smile on his face, he was an amazing grower and a natural salesman. "It will make you feel great so do you want to take a puff or two?" asked Ethan as he handed the joint out.

He was laughing at Brendan. Really, it was more of a chuckle than a laugh but Brendan could tell that he wanted to laugh. This man didn’t know him personally but if he did, he probably wouldn’t find it odd that Brendan had never encountered weed before. Of course, even after living 530 years, some may find it odd since the substance has been around for so long. But that was beside the point.
Regarding him with Brendan’s ancient eyes, he tried to understand what he was saying. So it was weed, but what was he saying after that? Looking at the joint and the state that this man was in, Brendan didn’t know if he should ask any more about the item in question. It seemed to do some weird things to this guy’s behaviour. However, Brendan couldn’t say that. Just as this man didn’t know Brendan personally, he didn’t know this man personally. Meaning, he had no idea what this man was like naturally, so he couldn’t say that this weed was messing with his mind or anything. Brendan had heard that drugs often made you hallucinate as well as other things, but he’d also heard that it does different things for different people. His ancient eyes landed on the object and he timidly reached for it. What harm could it do?
“Puffs?” Raising the thing to his mouth slowly, he got a full sniff of the substance. This stuff smelt disgusting. How could this guy smoke it? How could anyone smoke it? Putting it to his mouth, Brendan had no idea what he was supposed to do. How does someone smoke exactly? Feeling the vile fumes entering his mouth and trying to figure out what to do, he took in a deep breath before pulling the joint away and experienced a coughing fit. Waving the stuff away, handing the joint back to the man, he continued to cough.
How was that fun? Sitting down next to the man, he continued to cough until the fumes settled in his lungs. That was horrible. He never wanted to do that again. Opening his eyes, which had teared-up in reaction to the smoke, he noticed that things were a little hazy. Smoking did only take seconds to affect the brain after all; maybe this is what it was doing. But Brendan didn’t die, age or get sick. How was he able to get high? “How strong is that?” He looked at the joint again, his eyes feeling lazy and heavy a bit.
