Dell was touched by Charlotte's story, she'd certainly been through a hell of a lot of sorrow. He'd never had children nor had he ever loved but he could imagine how much it would hurt to lose someone so important to you. Hell, this woman had been through a lot and yet she was willingly telling him about her life, as though she trusted him with such private memories. He placed a hand in his pocket, retrieving a handkerchief and reached up to wiped away her tears softly.
"I'm sorry to make you recall such painful memories. It sounds like you've been through a lot. You don't have to continue if it hurts you to remember, Charlotte." he stated calmly and quietly, holding her close to comfort her. "I'm just sorry you had to go through all that. My life seems pretty boring and safe now compared to yours."
Dell pulled her close and almost cradled her against him, wanting to make her feel safer. He didn't feed off emotional pain so seeing her upset was of no benefit to him, and he didn't like to see a lady cry. He stroked her hair softly and looked to her.
"See, I just grew up in a hick state with my father and neighbour. Neighbour babysat me while dad worked and he taught me to fight. When I was old enough he made me a pain demon and I moved here to start a fighting club. My dad still doesn't know what I am but I'm able to support him with the money I earn at the bar...So my life is pretty dull in comparison."
