A demon can come in many shapes, sizes, colours, and forms. There are hundreds upon hundreds of different types of demons. Demons all need some source of essence to live off of, for example, lust or happiness. But some demons don’t need essences to live and are merely there for purposes as bad luck or trickery. Not all demons are immortal like the vampire, though all are immune to human or other species’ diseases. The only way to kill a demon is with removal of their heart or decapitation. Though it is believed that religious items can kill a demon, it will only injure them, thus, annoying them. Demons’ weaknesses vary greatly depending on the type of demon. Demons are created from humans when a demon reliquishes his power, part of his life-force, to the human. This would be the only way for a human to mate with a demon (by becoming a demon) in which case they would no longer be referenced to as what they were, but as a hybrid+type of demon they became. The most common and well known type of demon is a vampire. A vampire is a living dead demon. It feeds on blood, the life essence of living creatures, in order to survive. Vampires are immortal and age-less; stuck at whatever age they die or mature at. Pure blood vampires are born vampires or changed by pure blood vampires and stop aging once they hit maturity, which is a different age for everyone.
A vampire has many heightened senses. They have super speed, strength, sight and hearing. Some vampires even have special powers like flying or mind reading. With age, a vampire becomes stronger. As a fledgling, they have no real difference than a human. But as they get older, the more powerful they become; though you can still kill a vampire with starvation, destroying their heart, decapitation, setting them on fire, or exposure to sunlight. Since a vampire is a form of demon, they can breed with other types of demons. Vampires can only breed with vampires or other demons. Shapeshifters can shift from a human form to an animal form. Some powerful shifters also have a third form which is a hybrid of the human and animal form. However, this is not a typical ability. Shapeshifters usually only have two forms, human and their animal, and can shift at will. Shifting forms is painful and tiring for most shifters. The stronger the shifter the more easily it is for them to shift forms. Shifters are immune to most human diseases; however, they are very much mortal. They have a high pain tolerance and accelerated healing, but they can be damaged. Shapeshifters have human life-spans and age normally. They die from old age, extreme trauma (blood loss), decapitation, silver poisoning (the silver must be absorbed/injected into the blood stream) and removal of the heart. Shapeshifters can breed with shifters of other animal forms but the offspring takes only one form as their animal; no hybrids. Shifters are only born they are not "made" Shifters can also breed with humans, but a shifting offspring cannot be guaranteed. Werewolves are similar to shape shifters but only come in one animal form, wolf. Being much larger than a wolf shifter, werewolves can also be very dangerous. Not intact with their human side when in their wolf form, they can be very dangerous to approach. Werewolves can only change forms when there is a full moon. When the moon is covered, they change back to their human form through an excruciating process. Werewolves cannot be born, only made. Only humans can become werewolves through being bitten when the werewolf is transformed during a full moon. Humans are the most vulnerable species there is. Being able to breed with a few races as well as being able to be turned by most species, they are usually hot on the slave market. They have regular life spans and normal pain tolerances. Original species can be found here.
