Species Description:
See History for Species origin, this'll make more sense after reading that.
Elder demons reside in Hell and are masters of chaos and all things unholy. The influence of their realm corrupts men, and these creatures have mastered this influence. Their powers are unpredictable and dangerous, but very weak on the human plane, since their must draw their strength either from the chaos that lurks within humans, or must pull it through the links from the realm of Hell. These demons seek to amass worshipers or slaves who will lend their powers to the Elder, for in doing so they also weaken the barriers between Earth and Hell, further increasing the Elder's strength.
Elder demons have one goal: To corrupt all life and destroy the barriers holding the chaos of Hell at bay, for it is in the nature of chaos to resist confinement, and ancient aeons of influence by this force have shaped the minds of demons to aid its expansion.
They try to target powerful creatures in the human realm, or those with strong ties to Heaven, particularly angels. Strong creatures who serve as beacons of chaos will strengthen the links between the realms, and corrupting the former dwellers of Heaven will pique the curiosity of more angels to open chaos links to Heaven as well. The ultimate goal of Elder demons and Hell is to enter and invade Heaven and corrupt all to chaos.
However, Elder demons are new to this realm and struggle greatly. Their chaos forms do not resemble humanity, for humanity resembles the order of Heaven, and forcing themselves to fit into a human shell is ungainly and difficult to move in. Elder demons cannot bring their full forms to Earth, for the links with Hell are not strong enough to channel this kind of immense power.
In fact, the only way to bring an Elder demon to Earth is for a human to sacrifice his soul to the demon, who binds to it, corrupts it, and uses it as his link to earth. He must continue to feed from willing human spirits until he is strong enough to feed from whomever he pleases, a feat which requires many followers and much power. As he feeds from them, he corrupts them to chaos, draining them of life and virtue and strengthening through them the links to Hell until they finally die and enter the realm of chaos and horror.
An Elder demon is always fighting the call of Hell. Hell is always beckoning those like itself, full of chaos and corruption, and Elder demons feel this call like a drone in their mind, constantly cheering them on to corrupt things, change things, destroy things, return home, and the weaker an Elder demon is, the harder it is to ignore this influence. In Hell, masters of chaos allow the chaos to flow through them and channel it, torturing lesser demons at whim and creating and destroying and creating again. In the human realm, though, these influences and urges must be fought, some semblance of order must be maintained if anything is to be done. As the demon gains strength and worshipers, these urges dies and the demon can establish greater control over himself, but if he is weakened too much, he loses control of his urges, expends his energy on destruction and chaos, and is pulled back to hell.
Species Strengths:Species Weaknesses:
- Immune to squeamishness and mortal fear.
- Can draw strength from those who give it willingly (i.e. worshippers)
- Immortal. Cannot be killed.
- Can make blood contracts to promise the lesser powers of chaos to mortals. Very dangerous though and often ends badly.
- Can randomly transform amounts of things into amounts of other things. Power is dangerous, unpredictable, and draining. magnitude depends on strength of demon, usually it's something small like turning an apple into a pile of sand, three jacks, and a dead spider or something.
- Strong Elders can summon lesser horrors from their realm as servants and links to Hell. They take the form of terrifying parodies of life some of whom can make a human lose his mind on sight. These elders must be very very strong and influential in the world though, it is not an easy feat.
- Grow more and more chaotic as they weaken
- Have difficulty understand human concepts of order like gravity and constants and rules
- Cannot overuse their powers or they will be sucked back to hell
- Powers are uncontrollable and very weak in the human realm without supporters
- Are confined to a human shell and often have difficulty with movement and senses because of how different it is to be
- Can be weakened to the point of banishment by isolation, lack of support, or holy power of angels and orderly.

Overall Appearance: Human words cannot describe the true form of Daeoloth. But the cult leader he channeled into was a man who lived his entire life in preparation for receiving an Elder demon. He kept himself fit, handsome and well-groomed, and Daeoloth maintains this charismatic appearance. He isn't particularly tall but he still has a commanding air. His crisp blue eyes never miss a trick, and his hair is always slicked back and out of the way.
He likes tailored outfits. He struggles to understand what drives humans, but does his best to learn about them and project the image he wants people to see - a suave, clever, commanding presence to be followed and trusted and worshiped. And feared.

Daeoloth is a man who is difficult to entertain. Used to constant changes and randomness and chaos, he struggles with something almost like ADD, except instead of succumbing to attention shifts, he expects them and they never happen. There are times when he seems constantly on edge, particularly when he feels weak or out-of-touch with his worshipers, when the call of Hell is strongest. He constantly wants things to change and also struggles with repression and the oppressive stability of this world. Nothing is free and everything is confined, defined, trapped by rules he struggles to understand even the concept of, let alone the meaning of the rule itself.
When he is strong, he is better. He is capable of focusing for periods of time, and capable of acting human-normal. It is taxing though, and his release is destruction. He feels powerful urges sometimes to just destroy things, and while he was able to just channel chaos and transform the landscape of hell at will, here he must revert to barbaric things like physically tipping a table or throwing a piece of glass across the room.
This entire world is oppressive to him, though, and he struggles to complete his mission - to bring about chaos and lawlessness, and is constantly trying to suggest to people to just go for it, act on impulse, do whatever they like.
Prone to rage and frustration.

Detailed History:
Elder demons are the the opposing force to angels. Angels and Heaven live in a state of order and perfect harmony, but Hell is the plane of chaos, and all beings living there are subject to its cruel and careless whims, twisted and corrupted into monstrosities so great they are but fantastical legends on the human plane. Hell has always existed alongside Heaven, and all virtuous and orderly beings fear it. Life can hardly exist on this plane, and foolish souls condemned to it cannot understand the magnitude of their torment.
Elder demons are those souls not only strong enough to resist the chaos, but clever enough to understand it, and control it, and manipulate it. The very oldest beings in the realms, elder demons are the stuff of your religious ancestors nightmares, the things that put the "fear" in their fear of God. Humans have forgotten what Hell is in their growing secularism, and so do not fear it as they should. But this works well for elder demons.
When the Lord created the human plane out of boredom, he opened a link to a hybrid realm. Previously, chaos and order were the two pure realms, and nothing could link them, for the only way to establish a link between realms is by connecting souls from both sides. A demon would have to embrace order in its purest form, or an angel would have to become chaotic. The very nature of Hell and the angels' fear of it kept them separate in the before time, but when Earth and the Cosmos were formed, hybrid creatures were created that were capable of both order and chaos.
Perhaps it was foolishness. Perhaps it was stupidity. Perhaps it was lack of foresight. Perhaps it was pure forgetfulness of this unseen legendary land of horrors but when Earth and the Cosmos were created, the fate of Heaven was sealed. Weak links between Heaven and Hell were opened by these human creatures in their lack of understanding, and lesser demons, so eager to escape the horrors of their realm, began to crawl through these links, and infected humankind with Vampires, werewolves, and the demon types they know of so well.
Angels, so pure and perfect, were curious of this new hybrid realm and its freedoms as well, and in breaking the order of Heaven were so cast, one by one, from their pure realm to this hybrid one, so much closer to Hell. Each new being upsets the balance between order and chaos on Earth, and with the uprising of hellspawn and enslavement of races, the balance is tipping more and more toward Hell. Stronger demons can break through the links now. Elder demons of chaos, through great struggle and painful effort, can now walk among mortal men and corrupt them directly.
RP Example:
"...Mondior...Mondior, are you okay, master?"
His head. His head was so full of...words. Yes, that was what they were. And he heard the words, too! The words outside his head! Words inside, words outside...Words with meaning. Meaning?
"Master!"
The world rocked and he spasmed. His eyes--eyes?--opened, and sensory information filled his brain. there were things everywhere, but he wasn't interested in them. He focused on the thing closes, the thing collected to the things connected to him. It was shaking him.
He thrashed hard enough to push it away, one of his own limbs striking it in the head. Limbs, limbs were good, they could manipulate. He looked down at them and his new body.
It looked...blobbish. He didn't understand the concept of clothing, and the cult robe he wore looked like the outline of his body. How as he expected to move in this?? Other things around him were making noise, but he ignored them. He convulsed his body, learning what pieces of him existed and how they responded to his commands. fairly simple. Two long limbs near his sensory unit, all senses clustered in one area, what an idiotic and disgustingly ordered body arrangement. If he lost his head he'd lose his life! Two more, stronger limbs at the other end of his body, but their ends didn't feel as mobile. He had a lot of strange little mobility at the end of the upper limbs. Hands, they were called.
He looked up and around. More things that looked the same as him stood around the area, holes in their heads moving and orbs spinning back and forth. Mouths, eyes. One had fallen beside him and two more were kneeling around that one, observing him.
He watched them. He waited. Time seemed to freeze. Nothing happened. Nothing happened for a horrible eternity until he felt like he would rip in half from the continuity and he roared in frustration. What was happening here?? This place was disgusting!!
"Who is influencing this static?!" he growled. The words made sense with a practiced ease of fluency but it took his mind a while to understand the mechanics of what was happening.
All head-orbs pointed at him and just stared, unmoving. The order enraged him.
"I AM DEOGORATH, MASTER OF CHAOS AND HELL AND YOU WILL ANSWER ME OR I WILL REMOVE YOUR EYES FROM YOUR HEADS."
A ruffle seemed to flit around the congregation, and without warning, cheers erupted from every mouth and ever creature began to dance and chatter and act strangely. Deogorath relaxed, and turned his eyes skyward. That was better, but what about that sheet above them? Who was holding that steady darkness? Why had it not changed? And those points, why weren't they moving either? Who was holding this place so static? Under whose influence was this piece of realm?
A clear voice in the darkness caught his attention, and he turned to it. It addressed him by name.
"Deogorath, master of chaos, please accept us as your humble worshippers and grant us your favor! We have summoned you from your realm that you may share your great power with us! Praise Deogorath! Master of chaos!"
The group erupted in chants and he felt their souls open to him. He drew their energy into himself and calmed further. They cheered louder and louder and he observed them and their movements, copying them to try to stand up. He wobbled uncertainly but was caught by a pair of strong hands and allowed them to support him. These people would give themselves to him. They would worship him.
He turned to the hands supporting him.
"What is this place?" he asked.
"We're near Corpus Christi, master, in Texas, United States. Your glorious reign shall begin here!"
The corners of the creature's mouth-hole pulled back toward a pair of things sticking out from the side of its hear--ears, his mind supplied--and Deogorath's body compelled him to mirror this expression. It felt...pleasant.
He turned, and looked around at the men still celebrating. All eyes were on him. He smiled darkly at them. There was so much work to be done, but the worst was over.
