Remi bit his lip as he watched the doctor’s changing facial expression. Good he thought, at least he doesn’t think I’m entirely crazy anymore… Remi felt a little relieved by that, the doctor was an attractive man, and he would hate to think that he didn’t think as much of Remi as Remi thought of him. His skinniness and slim features may not have been appealing to everyone, but Remi saw through that, and to the bluest, most beautiful eyes he had ever seen. As Remi was lost in his thoughts, he fluttered his wings gently, making them reflect the light in all sorts of beautiful ways. Unfortunately, in this moment of lapse concentration, he may have fluttered his wings a little too much, for it loosened the ties on the open-backed gown, causing the garment to fall to the floor. Having been naked for most, if not all, of his life, Remi didn’t notice the slight change in clothing.
He smiled at the doctor, and tilted his head to the side, before speaking gently. “Doctor…I have a message for you…you’re going to have a child…a virgin birt-” Remi cracked up laughing. He had heard the human folklore of the baby Jesus so many times over, he couldn’t help but mock. “I’m sorry, that had to be done! The look on your face!” Remi grinned, teasing the other man. Once he had stopped laughing, Remi got around to answering the doctors questions. “Men of science go to the afterlife too doc, and yes, there are other angels there. However, I’m the only one that I know of who’s fallen.” Remi grinned. He was proud of that fact. He was one of a kind. Well, that he knew of.
“Can’t tell you anymore I’m afraid; spoil the surprise and all that. You alright doc? Just….Give it a moment to sink in…”

As the gown fell, Nate blushed a little and averted his gaze slightly, a little too embarrassed to fully comprehend what Remiel was saying. Something about a virgin bi- oh very funny. he appreciated that the man might rely on humour to make things a little easier to swallow here but he would rather some honest answers; this was a lot to get his head around. So, heaven was real, despite all Nate's theories and proven ideas about life and death, angels actually existed just as humans and shifters and vampires existed, and it was possible to fall from heaven if one did something bad. Just how bad? He looked to the man before him and grappled for words.
"Look, this is a lot to...handle. Wanna help me out here a little, Hotty Mc Sexypants?" oblivious to the pet name he'd already blurted out, he continued and tried to grapple with the thoughts racing in his mind. "Why exactly were you dropped back on earth? And...uh...you might wanna put that gown back on."
He knelt to pick it up and helped him back into it, using the normalcy of the action to ground him a little as he thought. He was still in the hospital on a shift, he'd just learned something new and exciting was all. Well, new and overwhelming but that was a different matter. He sat back on the bed and took a look at the man's arm, needing to focus on something.
"Let's get you to the x-ray theater while I think this over."

Remi smirked. He nodded a thank you to Nate as pulled the gown back on. "Mr hotty mcsexypants? Wow.....I have made an impression on you~" Remi was flattered as well as intrigued. Nate obviously approved of him, even found him attrative...This could get interesting.
"Okay...I like you, so I'll tell you a little more. Earth beings do go to the afterlife, but they don't become angels. Angels are created up there." Remi placed his hand on Nate's shoulder "Its okay. Just....take a deep breath."

Nate blushed bright red when he realised his indiscretion, oh my god, it had happened again. And the patient had noticed, at least Mr Remiel seemed more happy about it than the last guy. Hopefully he'd let it slip and Nathan wouldn't get in trouble with his supervisor for harassment again. Ad if he did happen to get in trouble for this, he could have at least come up with a better pet name than Hotty McSexypants. He inwardly face-palmed and wished the earth would swallow him whole. This day was just getting more and more surreal. He listened to Remiel as he explained more about...well, what he assumed was technically Heaven. At least he was taking the pet name rather well.
So, the afterlife was a real thing and people went there, whether they believed in it or not. Angel were made, not promoted from being dead to becoming higher being. That made sense, so did that mean angels were raised as children or were they made as adults? And what could Remiel have done to cause his descent. He stood and took a deep breath as advised. He was starting to get his head around this. He looked to Remiel and nodded slowly.
"Alright, I think I'm starting to get this. Come on, we'll walk and talk." he lead him through to the x-ray section and sorted out the appropriate paperwork as he spoke to the fallen angel, "If you don't mind me asking. Why were you sent to earth?"

Remi stood and followed the other man, wondering what exactly an X-ray entailed. He could only guess. Well, X made it sound like something dirty....maybe it was! Remi grinned as his mind played through some seductive situations between him and the Doctor leading him to what he only hoped was a private bed chamber.
The doctors question snapped Remi out of his fantasy, blinking as he took the question in. "Ahh.....Well....I wasn't exactly sent to Earth as such...I was more...Banished here. I got a little drunk and broke a few sins...no big deal down here, but apparently when you're meant to be better than the judgment souls people start making a fuss!"

"Ah I see, well I doubt you need to worry about those pesky habitual sins down here, as long as you don't hurt anyone you should be fine." he smiled and led him into a room with the large x-ray equipment, he found a chair for Remiel. "Ok, just sit here and this machine will take a photograph of your bones. Then we'll develop the picture and see if it shows the break."
He moved the fallen angel's arm onto the little lead plate underneath the lens of the machine and smiled before heading behind the glass to operate the machine. He hoped Remiel would sit still and not cause too much of a fuss. This machine could cause a few problems if they had to keep taking pictures because the man wouldn't sit still. He started the machine and tried to keep Remiel moderately calm.
"If your arm is broken, I'll put it in a cast for a few weeks then it'll be as good as new...provided you heal the same way humans do." he pondered this, surely he healed the same way...there weren't many difference between Remiel's physical structure and that of a human or shifter as far as Nate could see but he couldn't just assume, "Have you ever been hurt before? Do you know how fast angels heal from injuries such as this?"
(sorry for short)

"Oh okay...." Remi replied, looking slightly confused by the huge machine. Maybe X-rays weren't so dirty after all.... Remi's leg and arm twitched habitually as he sat there, not even noticing that he was moving. "Well, lets put it this way Doc," Remi started, twirling his free arm and moving everything ever so slightly in the process, "I fell from the sky. Would any other human survive that?"
His eyes were focused on the doctor; and worried about this thing he was doing to Remi's arm. "....will it hurt, doc? This.....X-ray thing?" Remi asked, childlike innocence in his eyes. "And whats a cast? Will it prevent me sleeping, cuz I've gotta stay outside, ya know? They don't exactly give you a welcome to earth pack when you crash down here......I mean, your the first human I've spoken to...and you've been so nice to me...... " Remi didn't realize he was ranting, fidgeting more and more with each passing moment.

Nate operated the machinery and watched as Remiel fidgeted. He was certainly an active character, each limb seemed to be moving of it's own volition. Some would call it nervous energy but Nate figured Remiel was too confident for that to be the right term; perhaps charismatic energy. He listened as Remiel ranted, not wanting to interrupt and kind of enjoying the way the angel's voice sounded. He wondered what he meant when he said he'd be outside...he supposed if Remiel was new to the earth he wouldn't have a place to stay. He wouldn't have money for a hotel either. Nate thought things through and walked over to sit opposite him.
"It won't hurt...I've done it already." he smiled softly, "A cast is like a plaster-cast wrap around your arm. It'll stop you bumping your arm and will hold it in one place so you heal right. No-one would have survived that fall if they lived on earth." he admitted.
"As for this sleeping thing. I assume you have no money or no-one down here you can stay with?" he hated the idea of such a friendly and, quite frankly, attractive man led out on the streets like some sort of drug-pusher or Big-Issue vendor. "If you like, I can help you find a place to stay. Somewhere warm with actual beds. But you can stay here for another night or two if needs be."

Remi looked at the other man, his face anxious and for the first time that Nate had seen, not brimming with confidence. Sure he did okay in the afterlife, but that was a whole different kettle of fish. Down here he was alone, scared and confused by this big wide world around him. His expression gave the man an even more childish look; his eyes down and scanning the floor, as if searching for all the answers to his vast array of problems on the white, sterile tiles.
"......I don't have anywhere to go.....you're the only person in the world I know." He sighed, admitting defeat over the section of his mind that was ecstatic about being banished. Lets face it, he had no clue what he had let himself in for. He started to get more and more worked up with each passing though of how he was going to manage this..... "I don't actually know what to do, where to go! hell, I ate that white tissue thing without even knowing what the damn thing was! I know nothing about living down here.....and I keep getting these rumbly feelings, right here!" Remi placed his hand on his stomach, now almost on the brink of tears. "AND I DON'T KNOW HOW TO FIX IT! Doctor....please..." Remi looked into the others eyes, looking exactly like a lost child. "Make it stop."

Nate watched as the beautiful man before him spoke, watching his features lose their cheerful disposition and seeing panic set in. It tugged at Nate's heart a little more than he'd like to admit considering he'd only just met this man. But he was alone and completely unsure of the world, not unlike a small child in some ways. He needed someone to make sure he was safe and teach him the basics for life down here on Earth. When he mentioned the rumbling in his stomach, he realized just how much Remiel would need to be taught. Nate got up and knelt before him, placing a hand on his arm softly and trying to comfort him.
"Hey, now. Shhh, you're ok." he soothed him softly and looked to him. "The rumbling just means that you're hungry and need to eat something. That's all." He checked his lab coat pockets and found the cereal bar he'd put in there that morning, handing it over to Remiel. "Unwrap it and eat this, it'll help...I didn't realise just how new you are to all this...Look, I can't just leave you on your own down here Remiel...why don't you come and live with me for a while, I'll help you figure things out and I can help you if anything down here confuses you."
He couldn't believe this was happening. He had never been so rash, never let a man live with him on a whim. But...this wasn't a whim. Remiel was lost and afraid and needed someone to help him out. Nate would never forgive himself if he let Remiel walk out of the hospital with nowhere to go or even the understanding that he had to eat regularly. He stroked Remiel's cheek softly, hoping the gesture was comforting, he hated to see his features broken and upset.
"Sound good? You'll live in my house, I'll give you some money to buy new clothes and some food while I'm at work. Then I'll come home in the evening and make sure you're ok."

Remi blushed softly as Nate knelt before him, placing his hand on Remi's arm. Nate's soft touch was so loving, so comforting....Remi felt strange. Very strange. Like nothing the angel had felt before...
He took the cereal bar from Nate as instructed, fingers brushing his and increasing this, what could only be described as a fluttery feeling, all the more. He took off the outer lining of the food and held it in one hand, and the so called "cereal bar" in the other, unsure of what he was to do with it. He eventually cottoned on and took a bite from the cereal bar, chewed it up and swallowed. It was the best thing he had EVER tasted.
He ate the rest of it really quickly, feeling the rumbles decrease as he did. But the flutteries were still there as Remi listened to Nate's wonderful, soothing voice and his lovely proposal of living together. "I....would love that" Remi smiled honestly, letting his true colours shine. "Thank you Doc.....so much...." Then the flutteries grew out of control as Nate's soft skin caressed Remi's cheek, causing his face to heat up all the more. This really wasn't normal.
"....Doc? Do...you want anything from me? I could try and get some of that money stuff from somewhere....or clean the house up or something?"

Nate watched Remiel eat, making sure he didn't choke or something. Even a toddler had a basic concept of chew, swallow, don't choke yourself on your tv dinner...but Remiel's problem was not that he was stupid or that he was slow. But that he was new to this. It was like asking a cat to suddenly sprout wings and know how to survive in space. He wanted to help Remiel...and h couldn't deny that this man was capturing his heart bit by bit. He was gorgous and so sweet, he just needed someone to show him how the work worked. Nate smiled and thought about his offer about money or cleaning.
"You don't need to pay me back, Remiel. But if you want to do a little cleaning around the house then I wouldn't mind. But don't feel like you have to earn your place there, I wouldn't be able to sleep if I threw you back onto the street and left you to it." he smiled and stood. "Why don't we get you back to your ward bed, I'll go have a look at the x-ray then bring you some food then we'll get you a cast."
He wanted to sort Remiel's arm out and get him suitabally fed before he made arrangements for anything else.

Remi smiled at the doctor again, standing up and moving close to him. He hated being called Remiel, but he would let the doctor off, just this once. Seems thought he made Remi feel so strange, he felt the need to be gentle with the man, to be incredibly patient with him. And Remi hated waiting.
"Remi, please Doc.......and.....what do I call you?"
He had been trying to remember what the doctor's name was from the minuet he kindly offered his home to Remi, it just couldn't come to him. He felt awful for this. And wanted more physical contact with the man........a hug would suffice. But Remi decided to wait, the flutteries had gone down and he didn't want to shake them up again, as all physical contact with Nate seemed to do.
Man must have some sorta special powers or mind control or fluttery control or something.....

"Remi. Alright. You can call me Nate, although I personally prefer Hotty McSexypants." he figured that getting friendly with this guy might just be the next big thing in his life, for the simple fact that he was fascinating and needed a little help. Nate could tell they would be close, and he didn't let many people into his life. "You sit here and I'll go sort that x-ray out. I'll ask the nurse to prepare some food and drink for you. Like the rumbling stomach thing...you need to eat and drink regularly or your body won't operate properly." he smiled and went to ask the nurse to prepare food.
He checked on the xray and frowned slightly as he pinned the sheet to the light board. Remi had managed to break the bone in two different places. Which wasn't really surprising when Nate thought about how far he must have fallen...just how far up was heaven? or the afterlife as Remi had called it. It had to be a certain distance up just as religion tended to depict but...space travel had proven this theory wrong. He shook the thought violently and felt the queasy feeling of religion set in his stomach. He thought he had given up on religion when he left home; his mother had been a bit of a believer and his aunt had been devout. His aunt once attempted to squish him in spider form, claiming that he was the devil reincarnate. He dreaded to think of what would have happened if he'd been a snake shifter, the Adam and Eve story would take on a new meaning all together. Still! All this religion was...partly right. He sighed and found the nurse, taking the meal and heading back to Remi.
"Here you go, Remi. This is sausage and mashed potato with peas." he handed him the food and smiled, "You have in fact broken your arm, in two places in fact. So we'll need to put that cast on. But I'll let you eat first." he hesitated then looked to him, "Would you talk with me more about this Afterlife?"
